POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for overseeing diamond core drilling operations with core recovery and service holes for exploration and underground mining projects. Requires experience in both underground and surface drilling, as well as administrative, managerial, and leadership skills. Must demonstrate strong adaptability to various drilling methods and working conditions, along with knowledge of hydraulic mechanics, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
This role also demands efficient resource management and planning, and the ability to negotiate with clients under established company guidelines.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Education: Degree in Geology, Technical degree, or related field.
EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 8 years in a similar position.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Operation of diamond drilling processes.

Training and supervision of drilling crews.

Equipment mechanics (hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems).

Budget management, HR, transportation, and safety.

Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

Sample preparation.

Operational plan oversight.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and plan drilling layouts.

Manage and control inventory.
-
Plan drilling methods according to ground conditions, including preparation of additives to optimize and increase production.

Execute rescue maneuvers for stuck or blocked pipes.

Ensure regulatory compliance within drilling processes.

Prepare daily operational reports.

Conduct borehole measurements (Reflex, DEVIco).
-
Verify the condition of equipment and tools.
