PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Education: Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.

Areas of Expertise: Underground mine operations, types of mine support, mine ventilation, knowledge of work equipment, cut-and-fill mining system, and narrow vein mining.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years as a Mine Captain.
POSITION OBJECTIVES

Establish and enforce safety standards for underground mining operations.

Promote a culture of safety and ethical values among all staff.

Maintain a long-term operational vision.

Plan, organize, direct, and control mining operation goals and resources.

Measure key performance indicators of the mine.

Manage resources (equipment and personnel).

Ensure adherence to quality standards.

Oversee the procurement of supplies for mining operations.

Manage contractors effectively.

Set achievable and measurable objectives to meet production targets.

Evaluate operational plans and ensure compliance.

Assess mining works and progress.

Provide training to operational personnel.
EXPERIENCE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct safety evaluations of mining tasks and promote safety practices.

Set work objectives in line with operational plans.

Knowledge of ventilation systems, surveying, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and safety protocols.

Monitor and evaluate underground mining operation processes.

Oversee acquisition of mining supplies.
-
Manage underground operations personnel.
-
Engage with safety staff to promote company safety values.
-
Plan, supervise, and ensure quality in underground installations and long-hole drilling programs.

Attend mine operations department meetings.
-
Establish and communicate daily work objectives for the mine.
-
Authorize explosives release from the warehouse for underground use.

Prepare detailed reports on accumulated work performed by mine operations.

Review and authorize contractor work to ensure proper control.
-
Provide training on Solo and DU equipment handling.
-
Prepare operational budgets.
-
Foster teamwork and integration of work teams.
-
Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
